Central Hudson Line Repair in Town of Ulster

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation began a state-approved construction project to rebuild approximately 23-miles of electric transmission lines that serve thousands of residents and businesses in Ulster and Greene Counties. A portion of this work will take place in the Town of Ulster. This work will continue through 2024.

THE ATTACHED MAP DETAIILS THE YELLOW HIGHLIGHTED AREA IN THE TOWN OF ULSTER WHERE WORK WILL BE PERFORMED. 

In compliance with the New York State Department of Public Service, the attachments herein provide the following information:

  • Central Hudson’s news release regarding the project; and
  • A copy of the letter and maps that were sent to area landowners;

Contractors for Central Hudson will be performing most of the work and will be overseen by Central Hudson employees, an on-site environmental and agricultural monitor, and various New York State Departments such as Public Service, Environmental Conservation, Agriculture and Markets, Transportation, and the Thruway Authority. Local municipalities and counties are also involved in permitting for stormwater management and road/highway work, as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for federal wetland and stream permitting.
