- Provide fair and equitable assessments for each Town of Ulster property
- Maintain up-to-date information on each property (style, size, year built, ownership)
- Administer exemptions; wholly exempt, veterans, business improvement, age, disability, existing STAR, other NYS mandated exemptions
- Appear at the Assessment Board of Review along with resident Board Members on the Annual Grievance Day
Taxable Status Date
|Property is valued according to its ownership and condition as of this date. All exemption applications must be filed with the Assessor's Office.
Tentative Roll Filed
|A tentative listing of all assessments is completed and filed by the Assessor, beginning the formal grievance period.
|4th Thursday in May
|The date when the Board of Assessment Review meets to hear complaints on tentative assessments,
concluding the Grievance period. All grievance applications must be filed.
|All properties are valued according to the real estate market as of this date for each assessment roll.
